It was my turn to be the student today, a rare occasion for me! I was very lucky to be given a voucher for "The Glass Duck" workshops for Christmas along with my sister so we booked one and had such a lovely experience.
The Glass Duck has been set up by Jane Connell who is a very experienced teacher, and opened her workshop in Basingstoke in 2016. The workshop we had was a 2 hour evening session. I was really pleasantly surprise at how fantastic her workshop is. Honestly i'm completely jealous! She had a large cabin built in her garden with one end of it storing her kiln and personal studio space and the other end is the workshop space. It has everything you need for glass fusing, the range of materials were brilliant and so well organised. The cabin is big enough to fit 6 people in for sessions. I managed to make two curved, small dishes. My sister made a lovely soap dish. and a few weeks later and you can go pick them up easily outside the cabin.
Such a wonderful class in such a beautiful and perfect setting. It was how I feel all workshops should be. Jane was so welcoming, with tea, coffee, drinks available.
Thanks so much for a lovely evening. I highly recommend!
