Laminating fabric using foils

Video 6 has now been uploaded!

This video shows other examples of using the textile foils, in particular using the foils to laminate the fabric rather than adding imagery.

This is a great way to completely change the appearance of the fabric and give it a completely different weight and texture.

These are only a few examples, of course you can continue to experiment looking for similar techniques and remember foiling can be doing on absolutely any fabric.

Materials used in this video:

  • Textile Foil (also known as Heat Transfer Foil):

  • Sourced from Applicraft.

  • Fabric: (Various)

  • Sourced from Whayleys Bradford (currently not in operation during the quarantine).

  • Paper: Newsprint Sheets (or alternatively Kraft/Parcel Paper, or Grease-proof Paper).

  • Sourced from Abacus Resources.

  • Bondaweb (also known as Transfer Adhesive):

  • Sourced from Whayleys Bradford (currently not in operation during the quarantine).

  • (can also be purchased from Empress Mills)
